Heart’s Landing Ranch is place where youth can come and experience healing through activities on a ranch. Each child will be paired with a mentor who will contribute to developing life skills, promote healing, and encourage personal growth. Visitors to the program will have opportunity to do a variety of activities with a mentor within a 90-minute session.
Part of the session will include a small ranch chore that will teach responsibility, discipline, and work ethic. The remaining part of the session will involve an activity chosen by the mentor and child, thus allowing for a fun and nurturing time with a caring and positive role-model.
The mentor may choose from four main categories:
Horsemanship: grooming, basic animal care, tacking, groundwork
Seed to Stomach Gardening: variety of activities depending on the season
Creative Arts: photography, video, arts and crafts
Other animal care opportunities: Chickens
In addition to the 90-minute sessions are our family gatherings and opportunities for community involvement that promotes our mission to "build a community".
It is our goal that through this mentorship program we will provide an alternative positive experience that will help hurting families and their loved ones develop confidence, learn new skills and experience healthy relationships.
